Chess in Schools

We mainly offer chess in schools through two methods, curriculum classes and After-school clubs. Where it is impossible to meet face to face e.g. in times of pandemics like COVID-19, we still deliver both curriculum and afterschool clubs through virtual (online) classes).

Curriculum Classes

These classes run during the normal school day. Our tutor visits the school and teaches a whole class or several classes at different times during the school day. Curriculum classes are useful for giving every child the opportunity to learn the game and improve their lifelong skills within a normal classroom atmosphere

After School Club

These are geared for those who desire a much deeper understanding of the game and competing against others in tournament play or simply play beyond the confines of their local school walls. A lively atmosphere is still maintained, with a lot of opportunities to ask as many questions as desired and interact with chess literature, forge new friendships, and engage in meaningful discussions about the game.

Online Classes

These take place in times of pandemics where in- person classes are difficult or banned. Occasionally a school may make a special request for exclusive online lessons for their convenience. Lessons are conducted via Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype. Online competitions are conducted on the playing site lichess.com.
