CIEDAL offers a chance for all aspiring 5-18 year-old the chance to participate in the Saturday Weekend tournament. The tournament can either be Rapidplay or Slowplay. The advantages of such tournaments are to measure the playing strength of the participants using a rating system where players can follow their progress throughout the year. Players are banded into sections depending on their playing strength and subsequently paired against each other in a Swiss style tournament with the ones finishing on the highest number of points the winner.

We offer camps that cater for all playing levels. The camps are used to hone the skills of those already familiar with the game whilst offering the opportunity for beginners to learn their first steps. Our vastly experienced instructors offer a harmonious balance between serious learning and fun during sessions. Normally our summer camps last a whole week from Monday to Friday where parents can drop their kids on the way to work and pick them up after work or during breaktimes. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Grandmaster lecture series is open to both Juniors and Adults. The only pre-requisite is to understand at least basic checkmates to be able to follow the lecture in timely and effective manner. The series is based on a theme where every month a Grandmaster gives a large audience a lecture where participants have a chance to interact first hand with a titled player with the games highest designation who will answer their questions and suggest ways to enhance their game.

We believe one does not stop learning in life. Education continues throughout one’s life well beyond the confines of formal School and University building settings. Our Adult Improver sessions provide more than just Chess. The  sessions are structured to mirror real life situations that require problem solving skills.

Lessons for all levels are provided by arrangement. Times and Days are flexible.
